COVID-19 Dynamic Monitoring System for National Prevention and Control

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak occurred in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China upon the arrival of China’s Spring Festival. To this end, the Chinese government has rapidly formulated the policy of scientific prevention and control, precise decision-making, established all-round, multi-level and multi-sectoral linkage epidemic prevention and control system at both central and local levels, organized a network of epidemic control covering both cities and villages, and taken classified management and grading diagnosis and treatment for confirmed cases, suspected cases and close contacts, and made significant progress and achievements. During this period, with the advocacy and support of the Geographical Society of China (GSC) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the geographers from a number of professional teams in China, relying on their professional mission and advantages, actively oriented to national needs, actively provided scientific and technological support for national coronavirus prevention and control and decision-making. Among them, “COVID-19 Dynamic Monitoring System for National Grassroots Organizations” was developed by the Key Laboratory of Regional Sustainable Development Modeling of CAS, which has completed the updates of versions 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0, and provided a system platform service for the implementation of contactless reporting, dynamic monitoring and management decision-making of epidemic situation in villages and communities across the country.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 is spreading rapidly around the world, reached 53 countries by 29th February with more than 85000 infections and nearly 3000 deaths (WHO). Coronaviruses have no borders, and science-technology have no borders. Under the initiative of the International Geographical Union (IGU), the organization of the GSC and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, the Key Laboratory of Regional Sustainable Development Modeling of CAS, IGU Commission on Agricultural Geography and Land Engineering (AGLE) quickly organized its forces and developed the “COVID-19 Dynamic Monitoring System for National Prevention and Control (English edition 4.0) to meet the global needs. We warmly welcome all countries, international organizations and local governments to use the system free of charge. Our key laboratory team will strictly abide by ethics, safety and international rules, and continue to provide thoughtful technical services. Let’s take active action to enhance friendship and close cooperation, and jointly make technical support and due contribution to win the global coronavirus interdiction war.
